What do they have in common?
All of the above require hard work, attention to details and dedication. You're not going to achieve any of these with
cheap "fly-by-night" come-ons or magic potions. Before you invest your hard earned dollars, remember, "the best SEO
is real SEO".
What Is SEO?
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via natural organic search results. In general, the higher in search results on the page and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine.
Successful SEO depends on your ability to intelligently apply the principles of good structured information design. SEO isn't something you do to search engines; SEO is what you do to your content so that the content is accessible and useful for real users.
SEO is best acheived when designing your website from the beginning. It can also be about making small modifications to parts of your existing website. When viewed individually, these changes might seem like incremental improvements, but when combined with other optimizations, they could have a noticeable impact on your site's user experience and performance in organic SERP (search engine results placement). You should base your optimization decisions first and foremost on what's best for the visitors of your site. They're the main consumers of your content and are using search engines to find your work. Focusing too hard on specific tweaks to gain ranking in the organic results of search engines may not deliver the desired results and even backfire if done wrong.

SEO Web Design Tips
The best SEO is REAL SEO
Start with your story. Your words. Like who you are, what you can do, why choose you, (what makes you different) described in a way a highschooler gets it. Great web design clearly communicates the advantage of doing business with you and that includes relevant keywords. Lots of them.
Unique Page Titles
Every web page needs it's very own descriptive 5 to 7 word title. That's the first thing Google sees. With proper search engine optimization webdesign, you'll also see the web page title as the search result. So if you sell baseballs, put "baseball" in the web page title. It's that easy.
Meta Tags
Like "description" (very important) and to a lessor extent, "keywords". The Description meta tag is the blurb you see in FaceBook and other directory listings, so make it good! Also, there many other "meta" tags in the "head" section of your web page that can help the webmaster achieve his ultimate goal of total Google domination!
"Yes, we do take pride in our accomplishments"HEADLINES!!
Just like a newspaper. Not only does it tell your visitor where he is, what he can do and why he should do it, headlines are delicious pieces of candy Google absolutely LOVES!
Pretty Pictures... what?
Eye Candy. The images that make your visitor go "ooh" and "ahh"! Assuming, of course, that they found you in search results. Google can't read a picture or Flash elements (yet), but search engines can read a description in your "alt", "title" and "name" image attributes ("tags"). The best search engine optimization webdesign is being descriptive and semantic with your keywords (no stuffing). If your image is a text block, then include the key phrases. Think "accessibility".
Don't Forget Anchors and List Items
More Google candy. Thats why XHTML and CSS are the preferred method of coding for search engine optimization (see next).
The Clean Code Advantage
Google loves "clean code"! i.e. "semantic" html and css. DIY web template programs like GoDaddy's "Website Tonight", WordPress and others tend to load up the page with too much excess code that can be speedbumps to Google and can slow down the search bots as they scan your page code for relevant content. Nickswebworks' "Clean Code Advantage" applies search engine optimization webdesign that cleans up or entirely replaces your bloated page code with semantic html and css. That's more "candy" Google loves
The competition is fierce. You need every advantage you can use. Dont scrimp on cheap website code. The few pennies you might save now will cost YOU big bucks later!
... and this is just the tip of the iceberg! There are very many resources on the web like HubSpot, A List Apart, SitePoint, SEO Book, the W3C (World Wide Web consortium) and so much more...
